CARAMEL SAUCE

An old family recipe; this is a sweet surprise for breakfast ladled over pancakes.

2 tbspns butter

4 tbspns brown sugar

1/2 cup water

METHOD

1.  Place the ingredients in a small pot and boil on top of the stove.  Once it is boiling it watch that it doesn’t burn.

2.  Once the caramel sauce changes into a mass of small and large bubbles all over the surface of the sauce, lift the pot off immediately as it will turn into toffee if you leave it too long.

Pour over ice-cream, pancakes
