PASTA WITH BACON, MUSHROOMS & GARLIC

5 small mushrooms

1 clove of garlic

1/2 bacon rasher

olive oil for cooking (or any other oil, margarine or butter)

1 cup of spiral pasta (or any other kind of pasta)

cracked black pepper

METHOD

1.  Put pasta in pot to boil.  It is done when you can bite easily into it but it is still a bit firm.   Drain and keep in a colander on top of the  pasta pot.

2.  Heat pan with a small amount of oil.  Fry bacon, then add mushrooms and garlic over medium-high heat.  Only fry until bacon is done and mushrooms and garlic are golden brown. Don’t burn them.

3.  Add cracked black pepper,

4.  Toss the contents of the frypan (including the oil)  through the pasta and serve.

Additions:  Add finely chopped parsley if you have it.   A small amount of finely chopped chilli added to the garlic-mushroom mix before frying is also nice.
